Amy Guerrero, Psy.D.

Dr. Guerrero received her Psy.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology at AIU, LA with an emphasis in Multicultural Community Clinical Psychology. She received her B.A. from the University of California, Irvine in Psychology and Social Behavior. Currently, she is a staff psychologist at the California State University, Fullerton Counseling and Psychological Services Center.

Dr. Guerrero’s previous clinical experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the UCLA Counseling Center, an internship at the California State University, Dominguez Hills Counseling Center, a psychological assistantship at Persona Neurobehavior group, an internship at Kaiser Permanente Psychiatry Department, and an externship at Family Stress Center in North Hills primarily working with the Latino/a population. Dr. Guerrero also worked as a behavioral specialist with children with pervasive developmental disorders in the LA area.

Her interests include student counseling including retention and academic achievement issues for first generation university students, trauma treatment, multicultural issues, acculturation, immigration, coping with stress and anxiety, and Latino mental health issues. Her doctoral project focused on understanding serial migration due to U.S. immigration among Mexican and Central American Families. Her interest in Latino mental health issues stem from her experiences with underserved populations and a desire to give back to her community.
