Susan Kaneshiro, Psy.D.

Dr. Kaneshiro is currently program chair of the counseling psychology program at Argosy University in Orange County. She is also a credentialed provider by the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. As a bilingual licensed clinical psychologist, she has a private practice in Santa Ana where she specializes in psychological assessments and the treatment of identity development issues, mood disorders, and addictions. Due to her training and personal experiences with differences, Dr. Kaneshiro is committed to considering every aspect of her clients' identity (e.g., sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, etc.) to better understand them, their experiences and their presenting concerns.
As a professor who has taught Masters and Doctoral students both at Argosy University and the Claremont School of Theology, she takes pride in training clinicians on how to tailor their treatments based on empirical evidence and their clients' needs.
Prior to her current positions, Dr. Kaneshiro was a senior staff psychologist with Monsour Counseling Center; which serves the 7 Claremont Colleges that includes Pomona, Claremont McKenna, Pitzer, Scripps, Harvey Mudd, Claremont Graduate University and Keck Graduate Institute. In addition to providing student leadership training, group therapy, workshops, on-call services and individual therapy, she was also liaison to the Chicano Latino Student Association and Claremont McKenna College. Dr. Kaneshiro also worked closely with OBSA (Office of Black Student Affairs), the QRC (Queer Resource Center) and the AARC (Asian American Resource Center).
