Ricardo A. Martinez, Psy.D. received his B.S. degree in Psychology from California Lutheran University and his M.A. in Psychology from San Diego State University. He went on to earn a second M.A. degree and his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), Los Angeles. Dr. Martinez’ emphasis at CSPP was in the Multicultural Clinical Community Psychology track. Dr. Martinez is a Member of the American Psychological Association and the California Psychological Association. In addition, he is a Fellow and former recipient of the APA Minority Fellowship Program.

Currently, Dr. Martinez is the Program Director for the Alta-Pasa Community Day School (CDS) Program at Pacific Clinics. The CDS program is a school-based program located on-site at Pacific Clinics which primarily serves adolescents involved with the juvenile justice system. It is a collaborative program between Los Angeles County Office of Education, Pacific Clinics, D’Veal Family & Youth Services, and the Los Angeles County Department of Probation. The program provides a structured support system to effectively assist youth to re-establish themselves in their community.

Dr. Martinez’ professional interests include: Community Psychology, Ethnic Minority Issues, Adolescent Psychology, and Substance Abuse Treatment and Prevention. In his current work, Dr. Martinez is particularly interested in gang prevention/violence prevention and substance abuse assessment, treatment, & prevention.
